Site Specific

Today we voted on what location we would like to perform in out of the four we had narrowed it down to; Fort Amherst, Chatham Dockyard, Upnor Castle and Upchurch Orchard. Most of us voted for Fort Amherst so this was our final decision for our location. After deciding this we once again split into groups and created a piece based on a picture, now all from Fort Amherst.

This was the first we had seen of the outside of the Fort. We were in the same groups as before so we decided to try and develop another scene that could go toward the mental idea. We had one doctor and then the rest of us adopted different mental illnesses that we had thought of, trying to come up with lots of variety so it would be interesting. We started by having the doctor bringing the group into the mental patients area and introducing them, then we have some small interaction between the patients and then they play a game in a circle, including the audience within the circle. This was supposed to be their outside/ free time, hence why they played a game, and were all together at this point. I do like this idea but we are finding it hard to come up with dialogue for the scenes so it may be too difficult to create a whole piece around.
