16th June

We ran act two over the next couple of lessons, and did the gas song. I think act two is really coming along, and although it is not as good as act one yet it is improving and I think we are getting more confident with it. We have also started to build our Audrey two, as they are very expensive to hire. We also had a sing through all of the songs with Mr Mcolgan playing the piano along side us so we could go through harmonies and doing the songs not to the backing tracks. I think this was good as it gave us a chance to just sing through the songs again and make sure we knew all of the words and what we were singing, this was very helpful when it came to my song and helped me feel more confident that I know it.

15th June

Today we ran through the whole of act one, with all of the dialogue and musical numbers. I think it went quite well and nothing went too badly, now I really just need to work on learning my lines and making sure I know what I am doing. The thing I struggle with most is knowing where to go in scenes and trying to remember what we set, so I have written it all down in my script so I can look over it before going on stage. I have also watched the film of the Little shop of horrors as well as some clips of performances of the musical so I could get more ideas about how to play Audrey. She is a ditsy, quite simple character and seems to want to please everyone. She is always in a pair of heels and trots around in many of the productions, so I am going to do something like this, not just walk, to add to her character. After the run we were given notes on how to improve it. We were all told to have more energy and make everything bigger, which I think will also come when we have an audience, also during my song I need to use more of the space and walk further while singing so I am not so stationary.
