Punk Rock

We  have started working on the next unit which is contemporary theatre. For this we have chosen to do the play Punk Rock, I am playing the character Cissy Franklin. Cissy is a 17 year old with a boyfriend named Bennett, they all attend a private sixth form. She is the popular girl who gets all A's and seems to have a perfect life but it is more complicated than that. For one her relationship with Bennett feels forced as he is not a very nice person, so I will look to see why this is when we look more into the play.

In the first lesson we had a read through of the script to get a feel for the play. I think it is a good play to do as we can relate to the characters as they are at a similar age and stage of their education as us although they are at a posh school. We have been told to go away and find a school to base our play in and so we can get a feel for the setting.
